Experienced Psychiatrist & Mindfulness Teacher in Central Pennsylvania.
Candace Good, MD is a dual board-certified psychiatrist with specialized experience in college mental health, hospitalist care, physician leadership, and independent medical evaluations.
Dr. Good began her career in academic medicine at UPMC Western Psychiatric Institute and Clinic, where she served as the medical director of the Center for Children & Families. She relocated to State College in 2007 to join Sunpointe Health, a physician owned practice. During her time in private practice, Dr. Good provided consultation to schools, community mental health centers, and day and inpatient treatment programs. She has also worked as a staff psychiatrist at Penn State Counseling & Psychological Services (CAPS) and Mount Nittany Health, where she served as medical director of the behavioral health unit and chair of psychiatry. Dr. Good remains clinically active, providing care to patients with serious and persistent mental illness through CenClear’s rural Assertive Community Treatment (ACT) team. She also serves as a consultant for the Foundation of PAMED and various law firms.
Dr. Good is a proud graduate of Penn State (‘95) and the Penn State College of Medicine (‘99) in Hershey, PA, where she also completed her psychiatry residency and child & adolescent psychiatry fellowship.
Dr. Good is the author of Own Your Present: A psychiatrist’s guide to mindful meditation and living a more conscious lifestyle. She speaks regularly on topics such as wellness in healthcare and supports other female business owners through her company, Sig: Wellness, LLC.
Dr. Good also enjoys knitting and spending time in nature with her fox red lab.
